About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide Protection & Control for SAS and conventional projects for electrical substations according to customer specifications and internal standards
- Plan and execute basic and detailed design for Automation & Protection applications involving switchyard and generator circuits
- Deliver quality, on-time documentation for Procurement, Manufacturing, Testing, Site Erection and Commissioning
- Support drafting schematics activity
- Receive inputs from the Remote Team and verify completeness
- Hand over deliverables to the Remote Team after job completion
- Understand deliverables, delivery model, schedules, standards and examples
- Study specifications and technical inputs
- Engineer protection and control for DCS and conventional projects, including switchyard and generator protection circuits
- Prepare technical designs, engineering calculations and drawings; check and validate design documents
- Select IEDs and components and validate BOMs
- Release manufacturing instructions and database configuration inputs
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including Testing, for Internal Validation and FAT
- Prepare compliance responses to customer observations and comments
- Develop cost-effective and optimized solutions
- Share return of experience and knowledge capitalization
- Prepare as-manufactured and as-built documentation
- Schedule reviews and follow-up meetings with front units
- Participate in technical and project management meetings and finalize deliverable submissions
- Manage design time and ensure on-time delivery of quality design deliverables
- Anticipate and mitigate delivery issues and recommend changes
- Provide weekly project reviews, strategy and risk management updates to the Team Lead and/or PM
- Highlight scope or design changes and track, manage and mitigate deviations and risks
- Comply with quality procedures, work instructions and processes
- Deploy engineering tools and follow GE drafting processes
- Issue technical specifications and basic documents for procurement
- Coordinate and review supplier technical offers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor Degree in Engineering
- 4 to 5 years in B.E. / B.Tech. (Electrical) or (Electrical & Electronics)
- Knowledge of Power System & Primary Equipment, Substation Automation, Communication Protocols etc.
- Product (Protection IEDs) Knowledge
- Protection philosophy & concepts
- Trip & Interlock Logics
- Cubicle Manufacturing knowledge
- Engineering calculations & Design tools
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently
