About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead customer-facing technical engagement by presenting GE Vernova's Grid Automation offerings, gathering feedback on product gaps, and influencing solution development
- Execute and support engineering design, analysis, and evaluation of substation protection and control systems
- Ensure compliance with business standards and program requirements
- Act as the technical bridge between Central Product Lines, Regional Sales, Tendering, Application teams, Channel Partners, and customers
- Develop and communicate technical solutions, recommend approaches, prepare action plans, and support approval of new solutions
- Present at and participate in internal and external program reviews
- Ensure proper documentation of technical outputs
- Build and sustain customer relationships through technical credibility and consistent communication
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field — or equivalent professional experience in lieu of a formal degree
- Significant experience in a relevant engineering role, with a strong track record in substation automation, protection systems, and industrial communication protocols
- Hands-on expertise across the full project lifecycle: design, configuration, testing, and commissioning of High Voltage (HV) or Medium Voltage (MV) Substation Automation Systems (SAS) and Protection systems
- Strong working knowledge of IEC 61850, Substation Digital Control Systems, protection fundamentals, and Remote Terminal Units (RTUs)
- Fluency in both spoken and written English and Cantonese
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of working time, primarily within the CEAP region with occasional global travel
- Familiarity with the CEAP (China, East Asia & Pacific) market landscape and customer ecosystem
- Experience engaging with Channel Partners and navigating complex multi-stakeholder customer environments
