About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide on-site technical direction to customer-owned utility and industrial power plants for turbine generator systems
- Review plant engineering documents and P&IDs
- Troubleshoot plant systems and equipment
- Plan, organize, integrate, and direct labor, tools, and materials to complete contractual work scopes
- Safely perform maintenance and repairs on equipment used in nuclear power generation applications
- Fulfill contract responsibilities for turbine mechanical and generator skill sets
- Direct and oversee repair or inspection procedures using electronic communication, references, and documentation technologies
- Recognize, predict, and document potential failures and future outage recommendations
- Participate as a service team member dedicated to safety metrics
- Conduct pre-outage planning and recommend or administer policies and procedures
- Lead execution and oversight of projects within the TFA’s core competency
- Execute project management and technical leader duties
- Support warranty administration
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues with engineering support
- Support business needs when not on field assignment
- Travel to and from projects and field assignments
- Work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on Steam Turbine experience
- English proficiency required
- Extensive travel to and from projects and various field assignments, approximately 80% travel time
- Ability to obtain unescorted security clearance at nuclear power facilities
- Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required
- Valid Driver’s License and passport
- Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, work in hot environments, and lift 25 lbs
- Meet core competency Level II skill requirements and successfully complete required training programs
- Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screening
- Successful completion of all required training courses
- Working knowledge of prints/print reading, manufacturing drawings, P&IDs, and schematic drawings
- Experience and training on GE, Alstom, Siemens, or other OEM equipment preferred
- Working knowledge and application of EHS policies and procedures
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills
- Project management, oral/written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
