About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary engineering authority for the mechanical integrity and performance of the wind turbine fleet
- Identify, investigate, and resolve complex mechanical failures
- Drive fleet reliability improvements
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance to less experienced engineers
- Bridge design engineering, field operations, and data analytics to optimize asset operational life
- Serve as subject matter expert for mechanical sub-systems and provide solutions for complex fleet issues
- Lead cross-functional projects of moderate scope and risk
- Build stakeholder consensus and drive technical alignment across internal and external teams
- Work with Monitoring and Data teams to identify failure trends early
- Implement proactive technical strategies to mitigate risks
- Provide technical supervision for fleet escalation and retrofits
- Validate performance improvement initiatives
- Develop and continuously improve field troubleshooting guides
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree of Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical, from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Field Services or Engineering
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Established project management skills
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
