Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work alongside other actuaries on various actuarial projects and analysis
  • Directly impact GEICO’s growth and profitability
  • Work on reserving analysis, claim trend analysis, and frequency/severity projections
  • Develop and present analysis and proposals to various stakeholder groups

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Business, Data/Business Analytics, or other relevant quantitative field of study with expected graduation by May 2028
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must live within commutable distance from one of GEICO’s offices in Bethesda, MD or Chicago, IL
  • Must work a hybrid schedule, including working from the office at least three days per week
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Highly effective communication skills
  • Intermediate skills in Excel
  • Basic proficiency with data analysis software such as R, SAS, SQL, Python, Power BI, and/or similar tooling
  • Self-driven, motivated, and leadership potential
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent priorities, providing accurate and timely results
  • Intellectual curiosity to learn and ability to ask insightful questions
  • Effective time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • GEICO will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position
