About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct investigations of suspected fraud or other illegal activities against the Company
- Interview subjects and witnesses
- Conduct database inquiries and take statements
- Locate sources of information and witnesses
- Evaluate information to determine credibility
- Refer and coordinate investigation assignments to outside agencies
- Provide training and support to departments involved in the claims handling process
Requirements
What you’ll need- Applicant must reside in a commutable location to Orlando, Florida, in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake, or Sumter counties
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field, or qualifying investigative experience alternatives
- Five years of insurance claims investigative experience, professional investigation experience with law enforcement agencies, or seven years of professional investigation experience involving economic or insurance-related matters
- Experience handling in-person or phone statements from various parties in an investigation
- Ability to gather evidence and draw conclusions related to fraud investigations
- Ability to organize and prioritize investigative workloads and handle stressful situations
- Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance
- Ability to document files clearly, concisely, and professionally
- Must obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license, certifications, and permits in accordance with regulations and company standards
- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment, including up and down steps
- Ability to climb on, off, in, around, and under vehicles, including RVs and commercial vehicles
- Ability to exercise caution and awareness of surroundings
- Ability to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information
- Knowledge of city, state, and local regulations, legal concepts, case law, medical treatments, and medical terminology
