About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Grow agency relationships to increase profit of GEICO and GEICO-affiliated products within an assigned area
- Oversee development and execution of policies that increase agency relationships
- Prospect, interview, and approve new agency appointments
- Manage agents through in-person, virtual, phone, and email interactions
- Build relationships, deliver training, and manage agency performance
- Implement agency-program policies and procedures
- Translate national strategic initiatives into local goals and objectives
- Gain agent commitment and hold agents accountable for execution
- Monitor agent performance against goals, procedures, and guidelines
- Counsel agents and take disciplinary action, up to and including termination, with leadership support
- Assist agencies in developing local marketing plans and strategies
- Use data analysis to prepare pre-call strategies and identify opportunities
- Serve as subject matter expert on GEICO and affiliated products, features, and tools
- Research competitor offerings to influence agents to sell GEICO products
- Evaluate agency performance and enforce agreed-upon action plans
- Conduct training on GEICO products, services, and value proposition
- Develop agency growth plans with leadership and the product team
- Prepare department business plans, staffing projections, and budgets
- Requisition supplies and materials and review budgets for cost reduction
- Adhere to GEICO's Code of Conduct, policies, and operating principles
- Meet attendance standards at the business location to perform job functions and interact with subordinates and management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Insurance experience required
- Must be able to perform essential functions including seeing, hearing, typing, and speaking, with or without accommodation
- Must speak in a clear, empathic, and professional manner via phone
- Must be able to meet in person and virtually
- Must follow complex instructions and resolve or facilitate conflict resolution
- Strong organization and priority-setting skills
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information
- Bachelor's degree or 3 years of sales or relevant insurance experience preferred
- Prior experience driving sales results preferred
- Prior experience with different lines of insurance, including P&C, Commercial, and Life/Health, is a plus
- Compliance with GEICO's driving standards and/or policy
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Must reside in or near Indianapolis, Indiana, and be able to travel within the geographic area
