About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Grow agency relationships to increase profit of GEICO and GEICO-affiliated products within an assigned area
  • Oversee development and execution of policies to increase agency relationships
  • Prospect, interview, and approve new agency appointments
  • Manage agents through in-person, virtual, phone, and email interactions
  • Build relationships, deliver training, and manage agency performance
  • Implement agency program policies and procedures
  • Translate national strategic initiatives into local goals and objectives
  • Gain agent commitment and hold agents accountable for execution
  • Monitor agent performance against goals, procedures, and guidelines
  • Counsel agents and take disciplinary action, up to and including termination, with leadership support
  • Assist agencies with local marketing plans and strategies
  • Use data analysis to prepare pre-call strategies and identify opportunities
  • Act as subject matter expert on GEICO and affiliated products, features, and tools
  • Research competitor offerings to influence agents to sell GEICO products
  • Evaluate agency performance and manage agreed-upon action plans
  • Conduct training on GEICO products, services, and value proposition
  • Develop agency growth plans with leadership and product teams
  • Prepare business plans, staffing projections, and budgets
  • Requisition supplies and materials and review budgets for cost reduction
  • Adhere to GEICO's Code of Conduct, policies, and operating principles
  • Meet attendance standards at the business location to perform job functions and interact with subordinates and management
  • Travel 30% within the Ohio territory

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must reside/live near Cleveland, OH
  • Must reside and be able to travel within the assigned geographic area
  • Insurance experience required; claims experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or 3 years sales or relevant insurance experience preferred
  • Prior experience driving sales results
  • Prior experience with different lines of insurance (P&C, Commercial, Life/Health) is a plus
  • Must be able to perform essential functions including seeing, hearing, typing, and speaking, with or without accommodation
  • Must speak clearly, empathetically, and professionally via phone
  • Must be able to meet in person and virtually
  • Ability to follow complex instructions, resolve or facilitate conflict resolution, and set priorities
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to learn and apply substantial technical and procedural information
  • Compliance with GEICO driving standards and/or policy
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance
  • At this time, GEICO will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization
