About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Guide multiple development teams in maintaining clear sprint goals
- Manage cross-team dependencies and continuously improve delivery flow and team engagement
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies for cross-functional development teams delivering financial/payment capabilities across mainframe, distributed, and cloud platforms
- Teach Agile best practices and make the process engaging, value-focused, and predictable
- Enable optimization of business functions for USPS
- Coach teams on backlog readiness, prioritization, slicing, and acceptance criteria
- Track and drive resolution of impediments across environments, integrations, data, and approvals
- Coordinate cross-team and cross-platform dependencies, including batch windows, deployment timing, and integration points
- Maintain visible sprint goals, impediment logs, experiment trackers, and delivery metrics
- Coach Product Owners, BAs, and technical leaders
- Run improvement experiments and follow through to closure
- Foster psychological safety, inclusive participation, and sustainable pace
- Serve as liaison between business and technical teams
- Build relationships with customers, executive leadership, and technical staff to support quality software delivery into production
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college/university is preferred; additional relevant work experience may substitute for the degree
- 3+ years of Scrum Master/Agile facilitation experience
- 2+ years working with multiple concurrent development teams
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT
- Proficiency with VersionOne / Agility or a comparable tool
- Ability to understand business and technical requirements, technical jargon, and government acronyms
- Ability to keep Agile ceremonies purposeful, timeboxed, and engaging
- Experience reducing carryover, aging blockers, and decision latency
- Ability to coach backlog readiness, including thin vertical slices, clear acceptance criteria, and limited WIP
- Ability to manage team sizing activities and project-end-date projections
- Ability to schedule, track, and manage meetings
- Experience facilitating Agile events and cross-team syncs
- Experience tracking and resolving impediments across platforms
- Experience coordinating cross-team and cross-platform dependencies
- Experience maintaining sprint goals, impediment logs, experiment trackers, and metrics
- Ability to coach Product Owners, BAs, and technical leaders
- Ability to drive improvement experiments through closure
- Knowledge of DevSecOps, Agile Scrum, VersionOne or equivalent Agile project management software, and SDLC practices
- Payroll systems and processing knowledge
- Mainframe knowledge is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong facilitation, leadership, organization, time management, budget management, risk management, problem-solving, adaptability, and teamwork skills
- Ability to build business relationships across teams and work with customers, executive leadership, and technical staff
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and pass government background screening, including detailed forms and fingerprinting
- Must satisfy the U.S. residency requirement for the USPS security clearance process
