About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, operate, maintain, and provide Tier 3 support for enabling services for CM/ECF and PACER
  • Provide full operational lifecycle support for Informix, MySQL, and other databases, including administration, configuration, maintenance, performance tuning, and security
  • Perform routine updates, monitoring, deployment activities, error diagnostics and correction, data extraction, and remediation of security findings
  • Install, configure, secure, maintain, deploy, and support databases on enterprise systems
  • Develop templates and implement standard configurations for databases
  • Configure, maintain, and support Enterprise Replication services
  • Monitor database health and mitigate potential issues and downtime
  • Implement changes across environments through approved change management processes, including after-hours production changes
  • Participate in database schema design and implementation
  • Plan and implement data migration strategies
  • Write SQL queries to extract data for program and stakeholder requests
  • Ensure databases are backed up and perform annual recovery tests
  • Collaborate with Data Platform Engineers, Data Engineers, Architects, Security teams, and application teams
  • Ensure database environments comply with security, privacy, governance, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of related experience
  • MA/MS degree with 5+ years or BS/BA degree with 7+ years of general experience in IT systems
  • Strong experience administering cloud database platforms, including Informix and MySQL
  • Expertise in SQL, performance tuning, workload management, and database optimization
  • Experience operating databases in AWS or hybrid cloud environments
  • Proven ability to automate database administration using IaC and scripting
  • Familiarity with federal security, compliance, and audit requirements
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with technical and business teams
  • Effective communication and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of modern monitoring/observability tools and CI/CD workflows
  • Experience applying industry best practices and emerging data platform technologies
  • Consultant mindset and ability to work with stakeholders to define and improve database operations
  • IBM Database Certification required
  • US Citizenship is not required
