About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain secure, scalable front-end and back-end application components
  • Build responsive, accessible web interfaces using JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks
  • Develop backend services, APIs, and business logic using Python
  • Design, implement, and integrate RESTful APIs and enterprise services
  • Design and optimize relational and/or NoSQL data models, queries, migrations, and integrations
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, and testable code
  • Create and maintain unit, integration, API, and end-to-end automated tests
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, backlog refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily Agile ceremonies
  • Build, troubleshoot, and improve CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate with product owners, UX/design, QA, DevOps, security, and engineering teams
  • Monitor and troubleshoot application performance, reliability, and deployment issues
  • Follow secure-development practices, including authentication, authorization, input validation, secrets and dependency management, and vulnerability remediation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent practical experience may be considered
  • Must currently possess Top Secret/SCI clearance with a CI Poly
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • 5+ years of professional full-stack software-development experience
  • Strong hands-on experience developing backend services with Python
  • Strong hands-on experience developing front-end applications with JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
  • Experience with at least one modern front-end framework, preferably React
  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle
  • Experience with Git and collaborative branching workflows
  • Experience creating, maintaining, or operating CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as PyTest, unittest, Jest, Cypress, or Playwright
  • Working knowledge of Agile delivery practices, including Scrum or Kanban
  • Strong analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills
  • Must be local to Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO
  • Ability to go onsite for quarterly Planning Events, required training and accounts, and emergency break/fix situations
