About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI
  • Develop interactive dashboards, reports, visualizations, and analytical solutions
  • Gather and translate business and reporting requirements into scalable and reusable Power BI solutions
  • Develop semantic models, relationships, measures, calculated columns, and analytical components using DAX
  • Use Power Query and M to transform, cleanse, integrate, and prepare data
  • Connect Power BI solutions to enterprise data sources
  • Design efficient data models using dimensional modeling and star-schema principles
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, views, and data transformations
  • Configure row-level security and other report and dataset access controls
  • Publish and manage reports, semantic models, dashboards, and applications in Power BI Service
  • Configure and troubleshoot data refreshes, gateways, connections, and scheduled refresh processes
  • Monitor and optimize report, semantic model, and query performance
  • Support deployment across development, test, and production environments
  • Perform unit and integration testing and support user acceptance testing
  • Troubleshoot issues with reports, data models, data quality, refreshes, gateways, and connectivity
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, data definitions, report specifications, and solution documentation
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, administrators, architects, data teams, and stakeholders
  • Present analytical findings, dashboards, and technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge support to end users and junior staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field required
  • 3+ years of experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying business intelligence and analytics solutions
  • Hands-on experience developing enterprise reports, dashboards, semantic models, and analytical solutions using Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience integrating and transforming data from multiple enterprise data sources
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
  • Strong proficiency with DAX
  • Strong proficiency with Power Query and M
  • Experience designing semantic models, relationships, hierarchies, measures, and calculated columns
  • Experience with dimensional data modeling and star-schema design
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience integrating Power BI with SQL Server, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Dataverse, Excel, APIs, and other enterprise data sources
  • Experience implementing row-level security and managing access to Power BI content
  • Experience publishing and managing reports, semantic models, dashboards, workspaces, and Power BI applications
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting scheduled refreshes, data connections, and on-premises data gateways
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize Power BI report, semantic model, DAX, and query performance
  • Understanding of data quality, data validation, and reporting governance principles
  • Experience supporting deployment across development, test, and production environments
  • Familiarity with Power BI deployment pipelines and source/version control practices
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology
  • Ability to translate business and reporting requirements into scalable, maintainable, and reusable technical solutions
  • Ability to communicate complex data and analytical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Willingness to stay current on Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and emerging analytics technologies
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400 or AB-400) required
  • ITIL v4 or v5 Foundation required
  • Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a position of Public Trust
  • US citizenship is not required
