About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and support sourcing activities across the assigned On-Premise Software commodity
Prepare and execute sourcing events
Gather and validate business requirements
Assess supplier capabilities using structured evaluation criteria
Develop and issue RFQs/RFPs
Manage sourcing documentation and timelines
Perform supplier, competitive, cost, and financial analyses
Support strategic sourcing activities and contract negotiations
Partner with cross-functional teams to define business requirements and recommend sourcing strategies
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements
Facilitate cross-functional communication and coordinate supplier meetings
Drive issue resolution and support early-stage supplier engagement
Identify process improvement opportunities and enhance workflows
Contribute to updates of procurement tools, templates, and best practices
Support supplier management, risk mitigation, continuous improvement, data quality, and procurement outcomes

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree; 4+ years of additional experience in supply chain may substitute for a degree
4+ years of related experience
2+ years of government procurement experience and/or experience with software buying
Experience in written/oral communications at all levels of the company
Ability to research, analyze, compile, and assess business and financial data
Ability to make sound decisions and recommendations
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented; works quickly and efficiently and learns quickly
Ability to manage multiple projects related to the purchasing process
U.S. citizenship required
Must be able to work in Falls Church or Herndon, VA 3+ days a week
