About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform the full range of Data Scientist responsibilities with greater independence, depth, and breadth
  • Serve as technical lead for analyses of enterprise significance
  • Lead complex analytical projects supporting Government-directed evaluations of program efficacy, ROI, and preventative risk factors
  • Select analytical methods, define validation approaches, and ensure results are defensible and reproducible
  • Review Data Scientists’ analytical designs, code, and results for methodological soundness before Government delivery
  • Instruct and mentor Data Scientists and other contract personnel in data science practices, tools, and Government-furnished technology
  • Develop and maintain analytical standards, business rules, model assumptions, validation procedures, and reproducible methodologies
  • Design, develop, and automate enterprise dashboards, executive scorecards, KPIs, MOPs, and MOEs
  • Advise Government personnel on appropriate use, limitations, and interpretation of analytical products and models
  • Represent the data science team in technical discussions with Government leadership, researchers, and clinicians
  • Travel required less than 10%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Top Secret clearance currently required
  • Must be able to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • US Citizenship required
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline with documented coursework or professional application in statistics, programming, and quantitative analysis, plus 5 years of professional experience; or a Master’s degree in a listed discipline plus 3 years of such experience
  • Meet all qualifications of the Data Scientist labor category
  • Advanced proficiency in Python or R, with modular code, testing, and version control
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL
  • Experience developing, validating, and delivering statistical or predictive models informing organizational decisions
  • Experience leading analytical projects and reviewing or mentoring other analysts’ work
  • Knowledge of experimental or quasi-experimental design, causal inference, or program-evaluation methods
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in a listed discipline
  • Preferred: Databricks and Apache Spark (PySpark) or comparable distributed processing system
  • Preferred: NLP and LLM use cases
  • Preferred: Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Preferred: Palantir Foundry
  • Preferred: Human performance, sports science, health, clinical, or biomedical data experience
  • Preferred: Peer-reviewed publications or conference presentations
