About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support fixes, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance for a large production web application supporting the EPA IV MAINES Contract
Contribute to multiple major planned releases in FY26
Provide continuous Standard Web Maintenance across UI and API tiers
Implement UI updates and enhancements based on requirements
Perform bug fixes, accessibility improvements, front-end performance tuning, routine UI updates, and code quality improvements
Ensure adherence to design, usability, and security guidelines
Build and support third-party migrations and integrations
Implement batch upload functionality for external systems
Develop additional backend features
Improve search and filter capabilities
Support development and enhancement of administrative modules
Establish and follow standards for migrations and integrations
Enhance integration-related functionality for reliability and performance
Support migration of legacy data and processes to updated architecture
Ensure API components meet performance, scalability, and security expectations

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of related experience
US citizenship required
Strong hands-on experience with Python and modern frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI
Full-stack experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
Experience designing, developing, and maintaining REST APIs
Experience with batch processing workflows
Experience integrating external or third-party systems
Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
Knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Git version control experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and manage work across multiple releases
Experience with Agile development processes
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
NACI (T1) public trust requirement
Preferred: experience supporting large-scale production applications
Preferred: familiarity with secure coding practices and enterprise security standards
Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
Preferred: experience with PHP
