About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish goals and plans that meet Program Increment objectives
- Coach technical teams and Product Owners on Agile concepts, Epic and User Story creation, Scrum, and Kanban
- Manage expectations with multiple Product Owners
- Interact in client negotiations and interface with senior management
- Provide leadership on major tasks or technology assignments
- Facilitate communication across teams to identify dependencies and risks and provide mitigation plans
- Organize and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including daily standups, Sprint Planning/Grooming, Sprint Reviews/Demos, and Retrospectives
- Maintain JIRA and other team information radiators
- Mentor and coach team members on Agile values, principles, practices, and processes
- Enable teams to become self-organizing and self-managing
- Develop release plans with Product Management and ensure backlogs are groomed, prioritized, and visible
- Motivate teams and promote collective responsibility for analysis, development, testing, and documentation
- Identify, address, and communicate project risks, dependencies, and impediments
- Ensure the definition of done is defined at story, sprint, and release levels
- Facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution
- Shield teams from external interference
- Improve communication and transparency
- Build a trusting and safe problem-solving environment
- Assess Scrum maturity and coach teams toward sustainable improvement
- Recommend adjustments to delivery practices
- Participate in Scrum of Scrums meetings for cross-team coordination and release planning
- Establish strong working relationships with stakeholders, including customers
- Support modernization of a mission-critical case management application used by U.S. courts and external stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree plus at least five (5+) years of experience in an Agile development environment
- Experience using and implementing the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and multitask in a high-tempo environment
- Experience with software development or working in a software development organization
- Ability to foster team dynamics and collaboration
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Agile Certified Scrum Master (PMI-ACP)
- PMP certification required
- Effective influence, collaboration, and negotiation skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify win-win solutions
- Effective facilitation skills
- Effective coaching and mentoring skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Energetic, goal-oriented, detail-oriented, proactive, innovative, hardworking, and patient
- No security clearance required
- U.S. citizenship is not required
