Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver new features and improve reliability of core services for customer intake, application screening, and information dissemination
  • Apply agentic AI to the software development lifecycle for United States Postal Service mission work
  • Work in a unique environment and technology stack
  • Identify system bottlenecks and business-logic flaws and address them with the team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 4+ years of hands-on AI software development experience
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering impactful, production-ready software solutions of varying complexity
  • Experience designing and implementing distributed-system components, including storage, caching, and application layers
  • Working experience with microservice architectures and exposure to high-throughput systems
  • Familiarity with system transformation patterns and modernization efforts
  • Strong proficiency in Java
  • Understanding of cloud engineering paradigms, asynchronous systems, and service integration patterns
  • Knowledge of design patterns, reliability, and scaling principles
  • Ability to contribute to architectural discussions and system design
  • Demonstrated ownership of problems and solutions
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
  • Experience mentoring peers or junior developers
  • Willingness to advocate for sound engineering practices
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies
  • Demonstrated use of AI and automation tools to enhance productivity and engineering outcomes

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Successful completion of a government background screening process, detailed forms, and fingerprinting
