About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and build virtual environment service models, including Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements for virtualization and application distribution
  • Automate manual processes, optimize delivery, and redesign infrastructure for scalability
  • Design, implement, and maintain VMware vSphere virtualization infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and vSAN
  • Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
  • Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations
  • Develop system architecture and system design documentation
  • Interact with the Government regarding technical considerations, problems, issues, and conflicts
  • Ensure the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with Systems Engineering
  • Support Government activities in Sterling, Virginia or Annapolis Junction, Maryland

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • 6+ years of related experience
  • Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements, including Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline plus 6 years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education, technical certification or training, or work/military experience
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM
  • Proficiency configuring and optimizing virtual machines, storage, and networking
  • Knowledge of virtual switches and VLANs
  • VMware Certified Professional certification required
  • Ability to learn new virtualization technologies
