About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and operate scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend services and APIs for the Box Tops for Education platform
- Own end-to-end design, development, and delivery of complex platform modules and features using Agile/Scrum practices
- Develop enterprise-grade solutions with .NET Core, RESTful/Web APIs, and microservices architecture
- Provide hands-on production support, monitor and troubleshoot Tidal-scheduled batch jobs, respond to incidents, and perform root cause analysis
- Participate in sprint planning, requirements gathering, scope definition, technical planning, estimates, and risk identification
- Conduct code and design reviews and contribute to microservices decomposition and API design
- Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and system-level analysis across SQL Server and PostgreSQL components
- Stay current with .NET and microservices technologies and contribute to architecture reviews and engineering talks
- Act as a subject-matter resource on BTFE technical implementation
- Contribute to technology direction and execute the SQL Server-to-PostgreSQL migration
Requirements
What you’ll need- Independently plans and manages own workload across complex tasks in an Agile environment
- Has personally delivered multiple medium-to-large project components or key enterprise-level features with full accountability for quality and timely delivery
- Follows and helps refine IT technical standards and applies best practices
- Expert-level knowledge of enterprise architecture, microservices design patterns, and technical toolsets
- Strong hands-on experience with .NET Core and Web API development
- Solid working knowledge of SQL Server and PostgreSQL, including schema design, performant queries, and database migrations
- Experience with microservices architecture, including service decomposition, inter-service communication, and deployment patterns
- Practical experience in Agile/Scrum delivery teams, including sprint planning, estimation, and iterative delivery
- Hands-on experience with Tidal or similar enterprise job scheduling tools
- Experience designing and governing complex third-party and SaaS integrations, focusing on performance, scalability, and security
- Ability to share knowledge and provide informal technical guidance without formal supervisory responsibility
- Ability to deliver high-quality technical results independently and collaborate with cross-functional partners
- Minimum age qualifications in the country in which the job is located
