About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including cloud services and SaaS agreements, amendments, nondisclosure agreements, RFP responses, statements of work, licensing agreements, BAAs, DPAs, and other cloud-based transactions
- Drive commercial transactions toward timely resolution while balancing business objectives, customer requirements, legal considerations, and risk management
- Advise Sales and business stakeholders on data privacy, data security, artificial intelligence, and other legal considerations affecting technology transactions
- Develop and maintain scalable contract templates for recurring transactions and evolving business models
- Partner with Sales, Data Privacy, Security, Product Counsel, Finance, and other cross-functional stakeholders on contracting strategy, processes, and risk
- Improve contracting efficiency and consistency through standards, templates, negotiation playbooks, and best practices
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting cloud software, SaaS, data privacy, security, and artificial intelligence
- Provide clear, business-oriented legal advice and independently resolve complex matters
Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the bar of a U.S. state or territory
- Authorization to reside and work in the United States
- 2+ years of relevant legal experience
- Strong experience in commercial contract drafting, review, and negotiation
- Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice with sound judgment and confidence
- Strong stakeholder communication skills and comfort working directly with customers and business partners
- Ability to manage complex workloads, prioritize competing matters, and operate independently
- Strong collaboration skills across legal, sales, privacy, security, product, and finance functions
- Working knowledge of legal and regulatory issues affecting technology transactions, including data privacy, data security, and artificial intelligence
- Preferred: commercial and contract law experience, including cloud, SaaS, licensing, and strategic technology transactions
- Preferred: customer-facing negotiations, technology and cloud computing legal issues, contact center technology or customer experience platforms, and complex compliance matters
