About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, train, and optimize deep neural networks for image-based classification, regression, detection, and re-identification
- Develop and optimize architectures for real-time inference on resource-constrained platforms
- Analyze requirements and evaluate machine learning approaches based on performance, computational, and hardware constraints
- Participate in the full development lifecycle, from data acquisition and annotation through model training, evaluation, optimization, and integration
- Develop and improve tools for model training, retraining, testing, and deployment
- Evaluate existing technologies and components, recommend new approaches, and integrate relevant solutions
- Design and test proofs of concept and prototypes
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of computer vision, machine learning, and software development specialists
- Contribute to the evolution of Genetec’s on-device analytics solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or a related field, with a specialization in machine learning or relevant experience
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in deep learning
- Strong skills in applied research, experimentation, and problem-solving
- Ability to consult scientific literature and apply new approaches to real-world problems
- Self-motivated, technically curious, and proactive
- Ability to collaborate within a small multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts in accessible terms
- Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written
- Advanced proficiency in Python
- Experience with at least one object-oriented programming language, such as C++, C#, or Java
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras
- Good command of Git and software development practices
- Strong software development, analysis, and technical problem-solving skills
