About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and implement new features for subscription management and SaaS solutions
Develop backend microservices with .NET/C# and frontend features with React
Collaborate with UX designers to deliver an optimal user experience
Participate in all stages of the development lifecycle: analysis, design, implementation, testing, documentation, production deployment/release, and support
Contribute to architecture and design discussions to ensure quality, security, performance, and scalability
Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders during design reviews and technical discussions
Write automated tests and maintain code quality and reliability
Apply DevOps practices for continuous integration, deployment, and monitoring
Diagnose and resolve issues in development and production environments
Participate in code reviews and incorporate peer feedback
Contribute to effort estimation and meeting milestones
Stay up to date on relevant tools, technologies, and processes
Participate in the on-call rotation as needed and according to the established schedule
Occasionally attend scheduled events at Genetec headquarters in Montreal

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Fluent in French and English, both spoken and written
Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET platform
Experience with TypeScript and React or modern JavaScript frameworks
Experience with Microsoft Azure or an equivalent cloud platform (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.)
Solid understanding of RESTful APIs
Experience with NoSQL or document-oriented databases
Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices, including scalability, resilience, and concurrency
Proficiency with test automation approaches, including unit, integration, and synthetic testing
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools; Terraform is preferred
Ability to produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills
Motivation to thrive in a dynamic environment and adopt recent technologies and practices
Ability to learn quickly, analyze complex problems, and effectively share solutions
Enthusiasm for continuous learning and adopting new tools, technologies, and processes
