About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Coordinate, prioritize, and adapt the team’s activities using Agile and Kanban methodologies
Mentor, coach, and support team members in their professional and technical development
Collaborate with technical leads to define technology direction
Foster innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement

Balance delivery execution, software quality, and long-term innovation
Facilitate decision-making and encourage autonomy
Contribute to planning, priority management, and strategic alignment
Collaborate with teams to integrate artificial intelligence solutions into Genetec products
Participate in resolving complex technical challenges and critical situations
Design and optimize image-processing algorithms and deep learning analytics
Develop classification, detection, segmentation, tracking, and regression architectures
Establish practices for data management, MLOps, automation, containerization, version control, validation, benchmarking, monitoring, and continuous deployment
Monitor and improve analytics performance after deployment at customer sites
Collaborate with Support and Engineering to resolve stability and performance issues
Contribute to Genetec’s artificial intelligence and computer vision strategy
Reporting to the Manager, Computer Vision and Machine Learning

Requirements

What you’ll need

Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated experience managing or providing technical leadership to specialized teams
Significant experience in computer vision, artificial intelligence, or machine learning
Strong complex problem-solving and applied experimentation skills
Ability to engage and develop talent in a highly technical environment
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary and constantly evolving environment
Strong initiative, leadership, and accountability
Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written
Excellent proficiency in Python
Good knowledge of at least one object-oriented language (C++, C#, or Java)
Experience with Git and modern software development practices
Experience developing, training, and optimizing machine learning models
Understanding of constraints related to embedded systems and edge inference (edge AI)
Ability to evaluate and integrate new technologies into production environments
Excellent technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Assets include experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, MLOps, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP, Linux, embedded model optimization, and distributed systems
