About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Investigate, process, and respond to credit disputes and discrepancies
  • Communicate with Credit Reporting Agencies and update credit reporting using Provana/Sonnet
  • Monitor and track credit dispute requests to identify service or system deficiencies
  • Document dispute results in the core system and preauthorized credit dispute management platform
  • Research and analyze complex requests and complete required updates within regulatory timelines
  • Analyze reports to ensure work meets timelines, procedures, and regulations
  • Research report findings and notify management of status, issues, and proposed resolutions
  • Maintain understanding of applicable credit union compliance laws and regulations
  • Identify and implement process efficiencies and submit procedural updates for approval
  • Identify and resolve issues outside the normal course of business
  • Participate in credit bureau reporting meetings and projects
  • Provide information for regulatory compliance and audits
  • Support department activities and perform other assigned duties
  • Keep management informed of activities, trends, progress, and significant problems
  • Assist with member complaints requiring research and responses
  • Serve members and team members appropriately and timely
  • Build positive and productive working relationships within the organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or better required
  • 2+ years of experience at a financial institution performing member service, extensive research, credit report review, and correction
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Internet and Email
  • 2+ years of prior experience processing AUDs, Direct and Indirect loan disputes
  • Familiarity or prior experience with consumer dispute management software
  • Intermediate interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate communication skills
  • Intermediate attention to detail
  • Spanish bilingual ability is a plus
  • Ability to understand and apply state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance
  • Ability to work in the United States; employment eligibility verified through E-Verify
