About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide escalated engineering support and timely response to service disruptions of core software applications such as MyGeotab
Maintain production servers and facilitate restoration and maintenance of normal service operations
Work closely with development teams and team members across all organizational levels
Communicate technical solutions to customers during service disruptions
Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with development teams to implement fixes
Improve engineering tools and dashboards for monitoring computing architecture
Implement automation tools and frameworks to streamline routine tasks
Conduct system tests for security, performance, and reliability
Assist with strategic planning for current and future server capacity requirements
Recommend design enhancements for reliability, security, and processes
Maintain supporting documentation
Proactively monitor servers to ensure high availability and superior SLAs
Plan and execute routine maintenance tasks
Conduct post-incident reviews and identify long-term reliability improvements
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotating schedule

Requirements

What you’ll need

1-3 years experience in Server Operations/DevOps/SRE or a similar role
Post-secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Computer Science, Electrical, Software Engineering or a related field
Strong troubleshooting skills with a systematic problem-solving approach
Experience with Powershell, Python, SQL, and Linux-based systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities under pressure
Entrepreneurial mindset
Technical competence in Google Suite
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, flat organization
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotating schedule
Eligibility to work in the United States verified through E-Verify
