About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide an exceptional and successful customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of each customer’s vehicle
Disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition
Ensure consistent execution of the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
Plan necessary repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers
Use cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections
Hammer out dents and apply filler resins when needed
Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage
Remove damaged vehicle sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts
Replace or repair glass, windshields, and interior parts
Weld, attach, or fit parts into place
Prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or an agreed-upon equivalent
Complete work orders within labor time guidelines
Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure all work was executed correctly
Work in alignment with team members to achieve repair facility KPIs
Serve as a dedicated Brand Ambassador of The Boyd Group
Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or equivalent required
Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
