About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Administer health, retirement, flexible spending, health savings, life insurance and disability benefit plans according to plan documents
  • Serve as a benefits subject matter expert and provide training and support to HR Service Center and HR teams
  • Resolve escalated and complex benefits issues
  • Analyze benefit administration processes and recommend improvements
  • Manage and report benefit deductions, 401(k) contributions and payroll-related savings-plan transactions
  • Plan and roll out open enrollment, including carrier implementation, plan changes, employee communications, testing and data validation
  • Partner with HRIS to maintain accurate benefit enrollment systems and reporting
  • Lead benefits communications and promotional campaigns
  • Document and update benefits procedures and employee-facing intranet communications
  • Analyze benefit offerings against trends, benchmarks and employee feedback with the Benefits Director
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA and COBRA, including notices, disclosures and reporting
  • Support other Benefits or HR initiatives and special projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3-5 years of Benefits Administration experience including processes, reporting, communication and support related to benefit plans
  • 2+ years of hands-on HRIS and benefit enrollment system experience; Workday preferred
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and use sound judgment and decision-making
  • Maintain confidentiality, integrity and professionalism
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; communicate complicated details in a straightforward, concise manner
  • Detail-oriented, able to multitask and meet critical deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, including pivot tables, lookups and basic formulas
