About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition
- Ensure consistent execution of the WOW Operating Way plan
- Plan necessary repair work and prepare customer cost estimates
- Use cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections
- Repair dents and apply filler resins when necessary
- Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage
- Remove damaged vehicle sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts
- Replace or repair glass, windshields, and interior parts
- Weld, attach, or fit parts into place
- Prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or equivalent
- Complete work orders within labor time guidelines
- Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure work was executed correctly
- Work with team members to achieve repair facility KPIs
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
