About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate heavy earthworks and processing equipment at the Camrose Landfill
- Resolve unexpected operational obstacles
- Lead by example and uphold safety, output, and quality standards
- Work independently across distant project locations
- Manage daily tasks, equipment care, and project deadlines
- Perform daily equipment inspection and maintenance checks
- Grease and lubricate equipment and check/add fluids daily
- Operate equipment to pack and cover waste material at the active face
- Clean trash from heavy-equipment tracks and gear mechanisms at least daily or as needed
- Perform other duties as required or requested by management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Extensive experience in heavy earthworks and processing equipment, such as forestry or gravel crushing operations
- Landfill experience is an asset
- Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and adapt to changing conditions on site
- Ability to work a schedule involving heavy overtime
- Valid work authorization in Canada required; GFL does not provide visa sponsorship
- Successful candidates must provide valid documentation confirming eligibility to work in Canada before starting
