About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the employment process in the assigned area, including employee relations, HR policy and programs, compensation administration, career development, performance management, and organizational planning
  • Partner with Area and Division Management teams on employment programs to increase effectiveness
  • Oversee employee relations, including performance management, termination, conflict resolution, and employee investigations
  • Coach managers and employees
  • Travel to branch locations to attend to and resolve employee-related issues
  • Partner with Corporate, Area and Division Management to design and implement HR programs supporting business direction and HR strategy
  • Manage training delivery and facilitate training programs throughout the assigned area
  • Create, communicate, and interpret policies and procedures
  • Assist employees with communication regarding company-sponsored benefits programs
  • Advise managers and supervisors on legal situations involving discipline, termination, hiring, promotion, and other HR issues
  • Provide feedback on employee morale to the VP of HR and field Management
  • Act as mediator, counselor, and facilitator in disputes between employees and managers or supervisors
  • Administer the Affirmative Action program and counsel managers on related corporate expectations
  • Provide due diligence for mergers and acquisitions regarding company culture, employment, benefits, and related issues
  • Provide guidance to HR Representatives on employment issues involving branch and division managers and employees
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, ordinances, company policies, procedures, and supervisor directives
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of human resource experience
  • Experience in HR field with knowledge of laws and regulations
  • Certification in Human Resources (PHR or SPHR) or master’s degree in HR– preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Generalist knowledge with broad background of employment, employee relations, benefits and training
  • Ability to write correspondence to employees, management and vendors via internal and external memorandums and reports
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under limited supervision and heavy deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to supervise others in remote locations and provide positive leadership and guidance
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, rules and regulations including laws relating to employment
  • Ability to handle heavy telephone call volume
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear
  • Ability to regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds and lift/move up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • Travel often to branch locations via automobile and airplane
  • Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required
