About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with Project Managers and senior staff on project scope development, scheduling, budgeting, analysis, and reporting
- Interact with internal and external clients, contractors, and service providers
- Compile, reduce, and interpret data
- Prepare technical environmental reports for senior review
- Assist with environmental investigations, including Stage 1 and 2 PSIs, DSIs, and Phase I and II ESAs
- Assist in developing and implementing remedial options and work plans for contaminated sites
- Assist with hazardous material assessments and proposal preparation
- Oversee and implement field investigations, monitoring and sampling programs, drilling, remediation, and hydrogeological assessments
- Conduct work involving soil, groundwater, surface water, soil vapour, and air
- Travel to sites throughout Alberta
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrated experience conducting field work
- B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental, Civil, Geological, Chemical or equivalent)
- 3+ years of experience in environmental consulting
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Alberta (P.ENG)
- Engineer or Geoscientist in Training (EIT) designation within Alberta would be considered
- Strong understanding and experience of the Alberta Contaminated Sites Regulation and associated guidance and protocols
- Previous work under Canadian Energy Regulator managed sites is an asset
- Experience managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail in a consulting environment is preferred
- Flexibility with project types and responsibilities
- Proven project management and client management skills
