About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to the Middle East Energy growth strategy and business plan
- Win and deliver energy consulting and advisory work
- Act as technical authority and Project Director on major energy assignments
- Identify, shape and capture opportunities; lead bids and pursuits
- Manage project revenue, margin, utilisation, forecasting and cash performance
- Own and grow senior client relationships across the GCC
- Lead Tender Review and governance activities
- Direct multidisciplinary workstreams across networks, substations, renewables, energy storage, grid integration, strategy, regulatory advisory, due diligence and Owner’s Engineer services
- Provide independent technical review, challenge and assurance
- Attract, mentor and develop technical talent
- Represent GHD externally through conferences, forums, publications and client engagements
- Draw on global specialist networks and contribute to projects in other geographies
- Uphold governance, quality, risk, health and safety requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Energy or Power Engineering, or a related discipline
- Typically 15+ years of relevant experience in consulting, technical advisory, or client-side energy environments
- Demonstrable experience in the Middle East market
- Established network of senior client and industry relationships in the region
- Recognised technical depth in electricity networks, substations, BESS, renewable energy, grid integration, network planning and losses, energy strategy, regulatory advisory or technical due diligence
- Proven success leading major bids and pursuits
- Strong commercial acumen in scoping, pricing, risk assessment and project financial performance
- Experience directing and mentoring multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent written, presentation and client-facing communication skills
- Chartered Engineer status or equivalent recognised professional accreditation strongly preferred
- Fluency in written and spoken English required
- Regional and occasional international travel required
- Arabic advantageous
- Relevant postgraduate qualification advantageous
