About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Influence the commercial performance of the team by ensuring assignments are adequately scoped and priced
- Manage scope and quality during project delivery and seek client variations where necessary
- Support development of the generator connection studies business, prioritising the power sector in Australia and New Zealand
- Provide technical leadership and coaching to team members focused on generator connections and power systems
- Generate reports for clients, network companies and AEMO
- Work as part of multidisciplinary teams to deliver future energy solutions
- Collaborate with international and interstate branches on renewable energy projects
- Lead and guide a team of talented individuals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Relevant qualifications and a good academic record in electrical engineering
- Significant experience in generator connections and power system analysis, preferably gained in Australia
- Desire to mentor and support junior engineers
- Ability to work independently on challenging large-scale projects
- Consistent record of successful project delivery
- Power systems software expertise including PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory and MATLAB
- Advanced programming skills in Fortran and Python
- Experience in grid forming and virtual grid technologies
- Experience and demonstrated knowledge of Australian National Electricity Rules and International Standards
- Experience in load flow, short circuit analysis, dynamic studies and EMTP simulations
- Understanding of the generator connection process in the NEM
- Effective communication skills to liaise with clients
