About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Participate in the full application lifecycle, with a focus on developing new features and creating value for users
Develop, test, integrate, and deploy backend solutions and APIs
Maintain GHGSat’s web services and ensure their high availability for internal and external users
Collaborate with developers, designers, Quality Assurance (QA), and Product Owners to design and develop new features

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Demonstrated experience designing and deploying scalable web applications that deliver tangible value to users
Strong experience with Python
Experience designing and deploying cloud services on AWS
Experience deploying containerized applications with Docker and/or Kubernetes
Experience with databases and ETL systems, particularly PostgreSQL
Proficiency in Test-Driven Development (TDD), CI/CD pipelines, and technical documentation
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Comply with the requirements of Canada’s Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Experience with Django or FastAPI is an asset
Experience with pandas, SQLAlchemy, or dbt is an asset
Experience with Argo in a Kubernetes environment is an asset
Comfortable working in a Linux environment is an asset
Ability to obtain Government of Canada security clearance
Interest in remote sensing technologies and the space sector is an asset
