About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies
  • Support and review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities
  • Assist with sales/use tax and property tax reporting and reconciliations
  • Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and related reconciliations
  • Support financial reporting, variance analysis, and management reporting
  • Assist with inventory accounting, including inventory reconciliations, cycle/physical counts, and related analysis
  • Partner with operations and other departments to resolve accounting issues and improve reporting accuracy
  • Support external audits and provide schedules and supporting documentation
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve accounting processes
  • Assist with ERP enhancements and other accounting projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Approximately 5+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with month-end close, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Experience working with AP and AR
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to investigate discrepancies and independently solve accounting issues
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, deadline-driven accounting environment
  • Experience within manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, inventory, or another product-based environment preferred
  • Sales/use tax and/or property tax experience preferred
  • Inventory or cost accounting exposure preferred
  • ERP experience, particularly JDE or Oracle, preferred
  • Experience improving or automating accounting processes preferred
  • CPA or prior public accounting experience preferred
  • Multi-currency or international accounting exposure preferred
