About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide day-to-day client care and resolve client problems
  • Audit released shipments and entries for quality control
  • Maintain client databases, including FTA correlations and annual certificate updates
  • Create new parts and maintain internal client work instructions
  • Assist, teach, coach, and mentor team members
  • Monitor current CBP regulations and PGA programs and research issues for clients and associates
  • Communicate with carriers, vendors, Customs, and clients by telephone and email
  • Execute accurate customs entries in brokerage systems for all transportation modes
  • Ensure timely processing and submission of customs entries
  • Support the release team and transactional processing
  • Represent GHY professionally when interacting with clients and colleagues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) Designation
  • Licensed Customs Broker preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of US Customs rules and regulations
  • Advanced knowledge of invoice (entry) requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of PGA requirements and data elements required for entry
  • Advanced knowledge of tariff classification, GRI’s, GN’s, and explanatory notes
  • Experience with customs brokerage software
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong client service, verbal and written communication, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Experience navigating different client nuances and SOPs
  • Ability to work independently, handle stress, meet tight deadlines, and prioritize work
  • Ability to travel regularly to the Pembina, ND or Columbia, SC office
  • Must live in Minnesota or North Dakota for the Pembina office, or South Carolina or North Carolina for the Columbia office
  • Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM EST or 9:00 AM–5:30 PM EST, 40 hours per week
  • Ability to work two statutory holidays per year
