About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide day-to-day client care and resolve problems
  • Audit released shipments and entries for quality control
  • Maintain client databases, including FTA correlations and annual certificates
  • Create new parts and maintain internal client work instructions
  • Support transactional processing and the release team
  • Assist, teach, coach, and mentor team members
  • Keep current on CBP regulations and PGA programs
  • Communicate with carriers, vendors, Customs, and clients by telephone and email
  • Execute accurate customs entries in brokerage systems for all transportation modes
  • Ensure timely processing and submission of entries to Customs
  • Report to the Client Care Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) Designation
  • Licensed Customs Broker preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of US Customs rules and regulations
  • Advanced knowledge of invoice (entry) requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of PGA requirements and data elements required for entry
  • Advanced knowledge of tariff classification, GRI’s, GN’s and explanatory notes
  • Experience with customs brokerage software
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Exceptional client service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience navigating different client nuances and SOPs
  • Ability to work independently and proactively resolve problems
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and handle stress
  • Must be able to travel regularly to the Pembina, ND or Columbia, SC office
  • Must live in MN or ND for the Pembina, ND location, or SC or NC for the Columbia, SC location
  • Ability to work Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week
  • Ability to work two statutory holidays per year
