About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate on the annual GTW compensation cycle, annual O/M increases, and store bonus
  • Identify efficiencies and ensure data integrity with minimal errors
  • Load one-time payments as necessary
  • Prepare, process, and forecast minimum wage increases for Stores
  • Ensure compliance with all provincial minimum wage requirements
  • Translate business needs into operational and technical Workday requirements
  • Lead compensation Workday configuration testing and troubleshoot issues
  • Conduct job evaluations to classify and benchmark roles appropriately
  • Align roles with organizational structures and market standards
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to provide compensation recommendations for preferred candidates
  • Ensure alignment with internal pay equity, external market data, candidate expectations, fairness, and consistency
  • Conduct regular audits and analysis of total rewards data
  • Identify discrepancies and maintain controls for internal audit compliance
  • Provide oversight and subject matter expertise for employee recognition
  • Monitor recognition spend and promote consistent recognition practices
  • Equip leaders with tools to deliver meaningful recognition
  • Create compensation training resources to improve understanding and capability in total rewards programs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completion of post-secondary education in Business or HR
  • 3-5 years of compensation, and/or recognition experience
  • 2+ years of experience using Workday, including loading EIBs, testing configuration changes, and auditing data accuracy
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including vlookups and pivots
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple competing priorities
  • Intermediate knowledge of provincial legislation Canada-wide, particularly pay equity and pay transparency
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to distill large quantities of data into a meaningful format
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bilingual FR/EN is an asset
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and maintain authorization for the duration of employment
