About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Operate and maintain IP and mobile packet core networks
Manage incidents, service requests, changes and problems
Support customer projects, deployments and network integration
Conduct troubleshooting and escalate to R&D when required
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure SLA compliance
Collaborate with NOC and cross-functional teams globally
Support reporting, monitoring and service improvement efforts
Deploy and support mobile core and IP network services
Ensure availability and performance across critical infrastructures
Run G+D's network and support new customer projects, network deployments and network troubleshooting

Requirements

What you’ll need

Formal telecoms/electronic or IP Network qualifications or equivalent experience gained through previous roles
Solid understanding with practical hands-on experience of IP networks, VLANs and routing fundamentals
High level of English is mandatory
Knowledge of Diameter LTE Signalling (S6a, S5, S8)
Knowledge of RADIUS
Knowledge of Diameter Gy/Gx
Knowledge of GTP v1/v2
Knowledge of SIGTRAN
Knowledge of SCCP
Knowledge of SIP
Knowledge of IP routing and switching (Layer 2 & 3)
Knowledge of BGP routing protocol
Knowledge of IPSEC VPN
Experience with Wireshark traces
Knowledge of Linux O/S, especially CentOS
Knowledge of MySQL and PostgreSQL databases
Knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies, including AWS, Azure, VMware, and Docker
Knowledge of DRA/STP, HSS/HLR, P-GW, OCS and PCRF platforms
Understanding of mobile roaming architecture, including serving networks, signalling interconnect and GRX/IPX providers
Knowledge of 2G/3G networking, 4G LTE and 5G technologies
Experience with a range of telecoms technologies
Understanding/experience of GRX and IPX networks
Technical knowledge of maintaining on-premises equipment and cloud services, including virtual machines, storage, network and security
Experience deploying and maintaining production infrastructure for high uptime and reliability
