About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing for specialty and traditional medications
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply commitments with manufacturers, wholesalers, and group purchasing organizations
  • Build and manage manufacturer and distributor partnerships to secure priority allocation and dependable supply
  • Own RFPs, negotiations, renewals, and vendor performance processes
  • Partner with clinical, pharmacy operations, and finance teams on demand forecasting and inventory management
  • Ensure procurement practices meet DSCSA, state board of pharmacy, payer, data privacy, security, insurance, and indemnification requirements
  • Track drug pricing trends, rebate opportunities, and supply constraints to adjust sourcing strategy
  • Build, mentor, and grow the procurement team
  • Design forecasting models and dashboards for supplier spend, inventory, and budgeting
  • Develop predictive analytics to improve operational efficiency and supply chain optimization
  • Manage corporate and technology procurement, facilities and capital equipment, professional services, non-pharma operational supplies, and marketing/vendor spend
  • Own enterprise-wide procurement policy, approval thresholds, and PO/contract workflows
  • Maintain centralized vendor master and contract repositories
  • Partner with Finance on budgeting across all cost centers
  • Report to the Senior Director of Pharmacy Supply Chain and participate in regular alignment meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare procurement and supply chain
  • Direct negotiation experience with drug manufacturers and wholesalers
  • Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution channels, drug pricing structures, DSCSA, and state pharmacy law
  • Proven track record managing complex vendor contracts and delivering measurable cost savings
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, pharmacy, or a related field
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Interest in corporate procurement or strategic sourcing, including SaaS/tech contracts, facilities, and capital projects
  • Contract and legal negotiation experience beyond manufacturer agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, and licensing terms
  • Experience with specialty pharmacy or direct-to-patient (DTP) delivery models preferred
  • Familiarity with GLP-1 and other high-demand specialty medication supply chains preferred
  • PharmD or MBA preferred
  • Experience building or scaling a procurement function at a high-growth health tech company preferred
