Key responsibilities & impact

Create innovative solutions to meet company business and technical needs
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software and test suites
Work collaboratively with the development team
Troubleshoot system issues and monitor performance
Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to develop solutions meeting requirements and compliance standards
Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other engineers
Attend regular team, department, or leadership meetings
Provide additional availability or flexibility for escalations as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong proficiency in Ruby and Rails (or similar technologies), test suites (e.g. minitest), and third-party API integrations (e.g. Twilio, Stripe, etc.)
Proficiency in frontend technologies such as Bootstrap, CSS, and JavaScript
Proficiency in database technologies such as Postgres
Experience with software development tools and processes such as Git, pull requests, and Agile
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Ability to translate abstract business concepts into technical deliverables
At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience
Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods
Must be able to use standard computer equipment for prolonged periods
Must be able to perform repetitive motions, including typing, reading, and reviewing code and technical documentation
Must be able to communicate effectively via written communication, video conferencing, and in-person meetings
Must be able to participate in meetings and collaborative work activities during standard business hours
