About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Make the business case for Gigawatt as compelling as its technology
  • Partner with Strategic Account Executives to help utility leaders understand value, shape solutions, and quantify financial and operational outcomes
  • Lead utility-specific discovery and value workshops
  • Translate customer priorities into customer-specific solution narratives
  • Build ROI, TCO, payback, CapEx, and OpEx models using customer data, benchmarks, assumptions, and sensitivity scenarios
  • Create executive investment cases, presentations, and decision materials
  • Connect investment rationale to utility budgeting, rate cases, capital planning, cost recovery, regulatory commitments, reliability, affordability, and customer outcomes
  • Facilitate working sessions with executives, operators, and subject-matter experts
  • Support demonstrations, proposals, RFIs, RFPs, business-case reviews, executive meetings, and commercial negotiations through close
  • Anticipate objections and equip champions with evidence for internal support
  • Establish how promised value will be measured after deployment on priority accounts
  • Build reusable benchmarks, value hypotheses, discovery tools, calculators, case studies, and module-specific value frameworks
  • Bring market insight to Product and GTM teams to strengthen positioning and roadmap decisions
  • Report to GTM leadership and collaborate across Gigawatt teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of experience in utility strategy, operations, transformation, solution consulting, value engineering, business-value consulting, or enterprise technology advisory
  • Deep electric, gas, or water utility expertise, including utility investment planning, core operations, technology decisions, and value demonstration
  • Ability to translate operational challenges and technology/software capabilities into quantified financial and business outcomes
  • Experience shaping complex solutions and partnering across sales, product, engineering, services, and customer-success teams
  • Technical curiosity and ability to develop fluency in an AI-native, data-intensive platform, its integrations, and enterprise architecture
  • Builder’s mindset and ability to create methods, tools, and repeatable practices while remaining hands-on in an early-stage environment
  • Strong executive presence and excellent written, presentation, and storytelling skills, including presenting investment cases to C-suite audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree in business, finance, engineering, economics, or a related field is a plus
  • Preferred: direct experience in enterprise software, solution consulting, value engineering, or technology advisory supporting utility customers
  • Preferred: experience developing ROI, TCO, CapEx/OpEx, business-case, or investment models
  • Preferred: familiarity with utility regulatory processes, rate cases, capital planning, cost recovery, and/or grid modernization initiatives
  • Preferred: experience supporting complex enterprise sales pursuits, including executive workshops, RFPs/RFIs, proposals, or commercial negotiations
  • Preferred: experience in a high-growth, early-stage technology environment
