About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute recruiting strategies to increase awareness and participation in Girl Scouting
- Conduct in-person meetings, presentations, and networking with community organizations, corporations, schools, educators, faith-based institutions, and other constituents
- Secure adult volunteer participation through community cultivation, lead generation, and follow-up in assigned geographic areas
- Achieve recruitment targets supporting girl and adult membership goals
- Research market data and membership trends to design membership growth plans
- Create and implement membership recruiting marketing strategies
- Cultivate and organize communities to increase girl and volunteer leads
- Prepare action plans, schedules, and status reports
- Plan and implement recruitment activities and events
- Represent Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles at local events, fairs, and festivals
- Use the council’s customer relationship management system to pursue and convert leads
- Follow up on leads and referrals from field activity
- Track potential leaders through the onboarding process
- Maintain relationships with schools, school districts, community organizations, agencies, leaders, educators, and faith-based institutions
- Recruit Service Unit Recruiters and school organizers
- Work with troops to recruit members and meet minimum girl-capacity targets
- Provide professional customer service to internal and external customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in lieu of education
- English/Spanish bilingual oral and written communication (optional)
- Knowledge of the basic principles of marketing, including market identification, segmentation, and interpretation and use of market data
- Experience in sales process and management of leads
- Proven experience setting ambitious goals and driving achievement of those goals
- Ability to create and deliver audience-tailored presentations
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Volunteer experience preferred
- Ability to adapt to changing situations
- Ability to use technology and learn new technology applications
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check
- Must be able to commute an average of 400–600 miles a month
- Valid California driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
- Comply with state-mandated reporter training
- Attend GSGLA signature events and/or other activities as assigned
- Ability to travel via personal vehicle or public transport to various facilities throughout the region
- May lift up to 15 lbs. periodically
- Must be able to perform the job safely
