About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the marketing and communications partner for Fund Development, Programs, Camps, and Executive/Governance departments
  • Own portfolio strategy, writing, design, social media, and results across the full lifecycle
  • Build annual marketing and communications plans aligned with council priorities
  • Meet with department leads to set priorities, scope requests, and plan seasonal campaigns
  • Maintain a unified campaign calendar with Marcom team members
  • Plan, write, and design recruitment and retention campaigns across email, social, web, print, and community channels
  • Lead communications for the Girl Scout Cookie Program and Fall Product season
  • Create and maintain volunteer recruitment and communications toolkits
  • Promote retail products and seasonal merchandise
  • Produce in-house design work within Girl Scouts of the USA brand standards
  • Brief and manage freelance designers or agencies for high-production pieces
  • Own Facebook and Instagram strategy, content calendar, and community management
  • Monitor comments and messages and route member questions to Customer Care
  • Set campaign goals, report results, and optimize messaging, timing, and channel mix
  • Brief the retained media relations specialist on press opportunities
  • Direct and provide feedback to the Marcom Generalist
  • Uphold GSUSA brand, voice, and photo-release standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Portfolio showing both writing and design work
  • Hands-on experience running organizational Facebook and Instagram accounts, including Meta Business Suite
  • Working skill in Adobe Creative Cloud and/or Canva, email marketing platforms, and website CMS
  • Ability to manage several internal clients and deadlines at once
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Three or more years in marketing or communications, including ownership of multi-channel campaigns from plan to results
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, including AP style and brand voice
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva
  • Experience managing websites through a CMS, including SEO, accessibility, and basic HTML
  • Skilled in Salesforce and Marketing Cloud or comparable platforms such as HubSpot or Pardot
  • Experience with digital and social media campaigns across Meta, LinkedIn, and other channels
  • Experience using Google Analytics, platform insights, and CRM dashboards
  • Media relations and public relations experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, vendors, and deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Valid driver's license
  • Level 2 background screening
  • Girl Scout membership
  • Schedule flexibility for work outside normal hours, including some weekends
  • If working from home, a private, quiet workspace with high-speed/stable internet connection
