About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the organization’s Compliance Programs
  • Provide guidance on compliance matters and advise on compliance-risk impacts
  • Work proactively with business partners to identify and manage operational and compliance risk
  • Advise company leaders on potential risks and impacts, connecting rules and regulations to business strategy
  • Maintain industry knowledge and monitor changes in laws and regulations
  • Identify risks, advise on mitigation plans, and provide oversight
  • Assess Compliance Management System results and identify areas requiring additional controls
  • Provide integrated business-risk assessments and prioritize responses
  • Oversee implementation of approved risk responses
  • Create and execute scalable plans for Compliance Quality Assurance, Compliance Automated Monitoring, Compliance Program, and Compliance Advisory functions
  • Establish and maintain Corporate Compliance Policies for applicable Consumer Finance rules and regulations
  • Coordinate and participate in cross-functional teams with executive leadership, legal counsel, and external regulators
  • Develop Compliance team staffing plans and budgets
  • Exercise management authority over staffing, employee development, and performance management
  • Build collaborative relationships with business and operational leaders
  • Support development of presentations for executives, the Enterprise Risk Committee, and board of directors
  • Perform additional assignments and special projects as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree is required
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a compliance role preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the financial industry preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take initiative, identify needs, make recommendations, implement them, and evaluate effectiveness
  • Excellent interpersonal, conflict-management, judgment, confidentiality, influence, and cross-functional partnership skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of internet and standard business applications such as Microsoft Office
  • Commitment to organizational core values and key competencies
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team, including training, guidance, performance coaching, and feedback
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
