About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan and manage application development and client delivery activities
- Design, develop, and test software for scalability, reliability, and data recovery on a high-volume, high-availability platform
- Contribute to a complex monolithic application powering payment processing and value-added services for merchants
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices while modernizing platforms
- Collaborate with Product, Platform, Merchant Services, and Support teams to convert business requirements into technical solutions
- Use Agile techniques including pair programming and test-driven development
- Deploy new features into production with zero platform downtime and no impact to customers processing transactions
- Build domain expertise in e-commerce payments and develop new product features
Requirements
What you’ll need- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship, now or in the future
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, another related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
- 7+ years of relevant job experience in Java Software Engineering, excluding internships
- Exceptional design, SQL, and Java programming skills
- Ability to grasp high-level business goals, derive requirements, and translate them into technical solutions
- Ability to change context and priorities based on changing business needs
- Proficiency with SQL, relational data modelling, and database schema design
- Pair programming willingness is a requirement
- Experience with Microservices architecture, globally distributed services, and 24/7 support is a bonus
- Experience with RESTful API design, Kubernetes, and Kafka is a bonus
- Experience with monitoring and responsive, self-healing resilient immutable platforms is a bonus
- Knowledge of scalability levers in high-volume, low-latency transactional systems is a bonus
- Experience with AWS and OpenShift Platform is a bonus
- Experience with Ansible, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Harness, Snyk, SonarQ, Cucumber, and Karate is a bonus
- Experience with Splunk, Sysdig, OpsGenie, Open Telemetry, Instaclustr, Prometheus, JBehave, JGiven, Xmatters, and ServiceNow is a bonus
- Development experience with a unit testing framework, such as JUnit, is a bonus; TDD experience preferred
- Pair programming experience is a bonus
