About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own and evolve the architecture and roadmap of the shared performance testing platform
Ensure the platform scales effectively across multiple business branches
Design, build and maintain reusable performance testing components and frameworks using Gatling/Scala, Python and Locust
Support high-load and distributed systems
Build and improve test orchestration, environment provisioning, reporting and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins/Groovy, Docker and AWS
Define technical standards and performance testing best practices
Provide code reviews, technical guidance and mentorship to Automation Engineers across teams
Troubleshoot complex performance, framework and environment issues
Lead root-cause analysis
Use data to validate solutions and drive continuous improvement
Help ensure the scalability, stability and reliability of Genius Enterprise and multiple POS business branches

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with hands-on experience in performance, load or scalability testing
Strong programming skills in Python, with Scala experience or the ability and willingness to work across both languages
Hands-on experience testing REST APIs and distributed, cloud-hosted systems
Practical experience using AWS or another major cloud platform and Docker
Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins or TeamCity, including Groovy pipeline scripting
Experience designing and executing performance test strategies for iOS and Android applications
Solid understanding of key mobile performance metrics
Experience building or maintaining a shared internal testing framework or platform used across multiple engineering teams is a bonus
Experience with performance observability and analytics tools such as Kibana or Grafana is a bonus
Experience with load, stress, spike, soak and endurance testing is a bonus
Experience working with POS, retail or enterprise-scale distributed systems is a bonus
Technical leadership and mentorship experience is a bonus
