About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Plan and manage application development and client delivery activities
Design, develop, and test scalable, reliable software for high-volume, high-availability platforms
Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices
Contribute to a complex monolithic application supporting payment processing and value-added merchant services
Collaborate with Product, Platform, Merchant Services, and Support teams to turn business requirements into technical solutions
Use Agile techniques including pair programming and test-driven development
Deploy production features with zero platform downtime and no impact on customers processing transactions
Build e-commerce payments domain expertise and develop new product features
Deliver merchant onboarding automation for card-brand registration and payment processing
Develop file-based integrations and integrate in-house microservices with card-brand RESTful APIs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, another related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
5+ years of relevant job experience in Java Software Engineering, excluding internships
Exceptional design, SQL, and Java programming skills
Ability to derive requirements from high-level business goals and translate them into technical solutions
Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities
Experience with microservices architecture, globally distributed services, and 24/7 support
Experience with RESTful API design and cloud technologies such as Kubernetes and Kafka
Proficiency with SQL, relational data modelling, and database schema design
Must be located in the Greater Boston Area or work hybrid three days per week from the Alpharetta, Georgia office
