Key responsibilities & impact

Install and configure VMware ESXi hypervisors, vCenter servers, virtual machines, virtual networking, and storage resources
Monitor and manage virtual servers, including provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting
Implement virtualization security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and intrusion detection
Apply software updates, patches, and upgrades to virtualization software, operating systems, and applications
Develop PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting automation tools to streamline routine tasks
Diagnose and resolve virtualized infrastructure, network connectivity, performance, and system-failure issues
Collaborate with IT teams, system administrators, network engineers, and security specialists
Provide technical support and training to end users as needed
Participate in on-call support rotation for escalations
May require rotating 24x7 on-call and weekend support

Requirements

What you’ll need

A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field; practical experience in the role can be used in place of formal education
Knowledge of multiple operating systems and related utilities and hardware
Knowledge of storage management, TCP/IP, network monitoring and tools, and technical writing principles and practices
Effective analytical, problem-solving, installation, and maintenance skills
Ability to work independently as well as within a team
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors, clients, and the public
Advanced level of English
