About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Calculate, adjust, and process sales commissions for thousands of agents
Answer commission queries and explain commission calculations
Research commission problems, troubleshoot root causes, and take corrective actions to ensure accurate pay
Perform accounting and auditing of commission accounts
Maintain the commission database, including data entry and maintenance
Ensure accurate and timely payment of commissions
Maintain records and documentation supporting audit requirements
Audit commission statements accurately and in detail
Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly commission processes
Explain payout timing, payout form, commission percentages, and related details
Analyze commission disputes, research discrepancies, and reconcile variances
Enhance current processes through deeper understanding of the commission process
Assist with questions about 1099s and general 1099 preparation
Perform other assigned functions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting; or equivalent years of analytical experience
Prior experience with sales compensation calculations and reporting is a plus
Background in the insurance industry is a plus
Familiarity with compensation tools such as Varicent, Xactly, or SAP Callidus is a plus
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, organization, and handling confidential information with discretion
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
High emotional intelligence (EQ), adaptability, flexibility, and ability to learn quickly under pressure
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
Reliable and predictable attendance of assigned shift
Ability to work full time and/or part time based on position specifications
